Here’s a list for a basic pre-winter check:

Antifreeze strength

Battery – if more than 4 years old it may struggle in the cold

Tyres – at temperatures below 7°C winter tyres may be worth considering – they reduce stopping distances and create more grip

Emergency kit – should include a spade, torch, a sleeping bag, water and plenty of food to snack on.
