As a child, Paul used to farm pigs on our site with his father. There's a USP!
10 years after qualifying as a lorry mechanic he decided to set up his own business with Roger (guess how our name was devised…) repairing commercial vehicles in some of the agricultural out buildings.
Paul and Roger had met several years earlier when Roger was Paul's apprentice at Bratts in Reading. The break away was successful and soon the duo were repairing some of the many horse lorries in the area, and then branched out into building them.
The business slowly expanded until in 2004 a new modern workshop was built and we became a MOT testing station. The new workshop has a MOT lane (for cars, minibuses and Class VII vehicles) a ramp, a pit and an office area. Of course, the benefit of being an old farm is that we have plenty of room and so there's no problem if you need to leave your vehicle with us for a few days, whilst you're on holiday for example.
We've also added some new mechanics, who between them bring not only a bit of youth, but a wide knowledge base and vast experience of all manner of vehicles.
In 2010 we refurbished the ‘old’ workshop. This now has 3 roller shutter doors, 2 ramps and the lorry pit, so now we can work on 7 vehicles at any one time under cover.
We are now at a point where we claim we can do virtually anything to virtually any vehicle. Sounds a bit arrogant? Maybe, try us and see! We offer a collect and deliver service from your home or office, a call out service, and are open 6 days a week.
In addition to MOTs, we can service and repair vehicles, have a tyre fitting bay and up to date diagnostic equipment. We are always happy to discuss any mechanical worries you have and will willingly look your vehicle over to advise you on the best course of action, from tyre pressure and oil levels to engine replacement!
